Creative Hothaus Coventry Project
Rhythm in Shapes is part of Creative Hothaus Coventry Project, an experimental course in response to the build landscape, which involved collecting primary resources from the city's architecture in the form of line, shape and pattern and generating new visual material.
The animation is inspired by the data collected in the suburbs of Coventry, a city where medieval and modern architecture co-exist, and the Suprematism art movement, characterized by abstract composition with fundamental geometric shapes.
The video is a two minutes long homage to Oskar Fischinger and the work of other famous abstract animators located at the beginning of experimentation with moving images.
Creative Hothaus Project ended with an exhibition where the animation was presented as a video-audio installation of old TV's, displaying alternating sequences.
